Hi I have gastritis, inflammation right after my stomach, never have the burning feeling, just get so swollen that food does not go through.
I eat the best diet in the world but it just gets so bad I end up in the hospital and they cant do anything I have crohns to and the only drug that would open me up was humaria. I was against taking the acid blockers but I just took one today and just the biggest relief in the world food is moving through like it was when I was a kid!

some suggestions from the Dr. would be good…don’t depend on drugs, change diet…. its not that simple. Perhaps suggesting certains foods to eat and avoid (besides the obvious alcohol, spicy foods, caffeine, etc. not eating prior to bed..), alternative remedies such as apple cider vineger and/or sodium bicarbonate, staying well-hydrated, sleeping on an incline rather than flat are things you can do to eleviate GERD.

this was just a 10 minute anti-pharma rant.

@card969 I’m not a vegan, but I do respect those who are and there is some truth to the correlation between good health and living on a plant-based diet. I wouldn’t necessarily call them “silly people”. On the flip side (Bythedog), simply cutting out animal foods isn’t the answer to every health problem……

Maybe this might help for others.
After three days going off all caffeine I feel I can digest anything like when I was a kid, just feels like I have acid back in my stomach, before I would burb up food and it would not burn at all. I have inflammation and a lot of it after my stomach, the doc told me I need nexium I took it and it got worse, Now Im taking acid pills and feel way better.

I guess i knew it for long time now but needed to hear it from someone else. I am cutting on food which cause me feel bad and only eating positive stuff. And apple a day from now on!

@googlibrary sorry this is not true for everyone. I have been on a lowfat and reduced carb diet for months. I eat maybe around 1600 calories a day in 4 small meals. I have severe reflux that has not improved with diet.

I am overweight that is the only thing I can attribute to being the cause. A dietician could not even pick apart the way I eat.

all food is correct,the stomach cant tell the difference of food it dos not have a brain

i find it amazing that i am watching this vid, and to the right is a huge add for burger deals. I know the two are not correlated as this doctor says stay away from fast food, so it is youtubes adds(which by the way are incredibly annoying) that cause problems. there should be a “truth .com” no adds, no fakers, just honesty. Chance of that???….0

20 years on prilosec and im not fat and my bones are killing me i have like arthritis in my hands im getting close to 50 i have volcano acid choking me while im sleeping im going to choke to death.i have 12 plus discs in my back plus 3 ruptures.im going to try better diet thank you.

Poor posture is now considered a culprit of GERD. Why not. Poor posture is physically compressing? the digestive system. It is depressing as well. Both the emotional and physical problems cause GERD. I’ve lengthened my spine and whole body. An offshoot to this is that my GERD has become nearly none existent

Sodium bicarbonate dissolved in water works instantly if you’ve eaten something you shouldn’t have! FORGET the otc trash! Best to eat a raw vegan diet and never have to concern yourself with this anyway! I’ve read where the stomach actually produces sodium bicarb (base) rather than hydrochloric acid, and that the act of neutralizing the acid food produces the acid as there is often not enough sb to neutralize all the acid in the food. We are meant to be alkaline and not acid! AVOID MEAT!
